Coello & Associates recognized in this year’s CFA “Basement of the Year” Competition WAUKESHA, Wisc. (Feb. 19, 2007) Coello & Associates, Inc. received two honors in the 2007 Concrete Foundations Association’s Basement of the Year competition. Votes were cast by fellow concrete professionals at the World of Concrete held in Las Vegas last month. In the single-family category of homes sized between 2,000 and 5,000 square feet, Coello came out on top with the foundation constructed for the Koepke family in Dundee. This basement was featured on the program “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” and was completed in an unprecedented 10.5 hours. “It took a great deal of careful planning and hard work, but it was definitely worth it,” said general manager, Michael Coello. “It was a truly amazing experience for all of us at Coello & Associates.” Coello and Associates was also honored with a third place finish in the single-family category of homes greater than 5,000 square feet. This home, built by Moore Designs, is a 16,000 square foot residence located in West Bend. The 10-foot basement walls, specially engineered footings, and double-ellipse design at the rear made the project especially challenging. |
